Let’s remember Alan Turing, a computer science pioneer who made computer chess possible, paving the roads for the online platforms we enjoy today!

Together with his colleague, David Champernowne, he developed the Turochamp in 1948, which was “capable of playing an entire chess game against a human player at a low level of play by calculating all potential moves.” (Wikipedia)

He also helped end World War II by decoding Nazi Germany Intelligence ciphers. The film, The Imitation Game, was based on his life and efforts during the war.
